The European Web Browser Choice

Mar 3 2010

Many of you have probably already heard about the European Web Browser Choice that’s going on in, yes you guessed right, Europe right now.

The Web Browser Choice is according to the European Commission a deal between The European Commission and Microsoft. The European Commission believes that Microsoft has taken advantage of their predominant position on the European market by providing Internet Explorer as the standard browser on Windows.

When Mock-ups in Photoshop Goes Wrong (or How to Prep Your Design for a Web Developer 2)

Feb 23 2010

Two weeks ago Simon gave us some examples on what can go wrong in a web design. In this post I just want to add to this and bring up some more, according to me, quite common mistakes that I think designers do. This is not about complaining and I hope that anybody reading this realize that. It’s simply just about improving our skills and I would love to read a similar post from a designers point of view.

Jakob Westman – Interview with the author of Color Blast

Feb 15 2010

Jakob has been working with advertising for over 16 years. He’s been interested in graphic design and illustration for as long as he can remember. In school he did posters and demo tape covers for his friends who played in a band. And through a nation wide competition in school (where you were supposed to make a magazine about milk), he stumbled into advertising. His entry won the competition. Continue reading…

Just Some Real Immature iPad Jokes

Feb 1 2010

There are not many unreleased things that one can grow tired of after just a couple days. But the iPad definately fits into that category. I know a lot of people is dead and fuzzy-headed tired of even hearing the word iPa… (See? Didn’t say it!) So uhm, sorry, but this post is for not ”deadly tired” people. Continue reading…

We are Craftsmen

Jan 11 2010

I recently finished reading Dan Cederholms Handcrafted CSS and just started reading The Pragmatic Programmer by Andrew Hunt and Dave Thomas. Both books make references to the craft of carpentry. This got me thinking of how similar these professions are.

New year and a new author, 2009, here we come!

Jan 17 2009

It’s been totally too quiet here lately, right? So maybe you people might have started to wonder; Is this blog dead? Are the authors dead? Is there never ever going to be new posts on Swedish Fika? Yea, I thought the same. (Please don’t get angry with me now other “author-guys”…)

After visiting the blog randomly a couple of months and seeing no activity at all I contacted one of the authors and asked him permission to join in. He said yes. So here I am, the new author. I don’t have much experience of blogging but I’m a hard working web developer and I’m determined to do my best to keep this blog up and running. And if necessary, pushing the other guys  to do the same. 2009 here we come!

A lot of work to do

May 8 2008

As you can see we haven’t written any articles during a couple of weeks. The reason why is that we are currently working on our degree projects and they are taking up the most of our time.

We will be back in a couple of weeks.
